Maureen Gleeson
Maureen is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) specialising in Early Intervention for children with autism and developmental delays.
Maureen started her journey working with children with additional needs while completing her Bachelor of Social Science in UCC in 2004. Maureen found working as a home tutor utterly fulfilling and continued this work while completing her Masters in Health Promotion in NUI Galway in 2008. From 2009 to 2015, Maureen travelled to Sydney, Australia where she worked as a Senior Therapist and subsequently, a Programme Supervisor in a Paediatric Clinic for children with autism and related disorders. While working in Sydney, Maureen studied Behaviour Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology and completed over 1,500 supervised hours of practice. In 2014 Maureen became a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. On returning to Ireland in 2015, Maureen set up her private practice. In 2017 Maureen completed a Certificate programme in Counselling and Psychotherapy at PCI College to further develop her skills.

Maureen is committed to providing tailored holistic programmes to meet her clients’ needs, taking family, school and life circumstances into consideration. She is skilled and experienced in determining the most effective method to assist a child reach their full potential. Programmes are evidence based and focus on a broad range of development areas including communication, independence skills, academic skills, play skills, social skills and fine and gross motor skills. In providing comprehensive home based programs, Maureen works in conjunction with teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists. Maureen has also lectured and supervised students on placement enrolled in the MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis at the University of Galway.
Maureen is passionate about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the positive impact that individulaised, evidence based programs can have for children with developmental delays and their families. She understands the importance of involving families and other professionals in working with her clients. Maureen has extensive experience working with children with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Maureen is an ongoing member and current Chairperson of the Munster Behaviour Analysts Forum (MBAF). The MBAF aims to support the development of Applied Behaviour Analysis in Munster and nationally and is a continuing education provider.
